The 1 Month Rundown! How have we grown?

Antonino: One month! I can not believe that Antonino is already one month old. Over the last month, he has already changed so much. Nino sleeps very sound and is starting to recognize day from night. He is starting to sleep for 4-5 hour stretches throughout the night. He reacts to voices and noises and is starting to focus and follow things with his eyes. He is growing so fast and at today’s check up, he was measured to be 8 lbs 4.5 oz and 20 1/2 inches tall, Grow Baby Grow!

Jeremy: I am in my third week of my training and fitness journey. Week one was implementing a “diet” that I can actually sustain. I eat clean and have not cut out anything 100% so that I can maintain this new lifestyle for a long time. I have lost 7 pounds over the last 3 weeks and I am feeling great. Week two was introducing a real running program that The Fit Foodie Mama provided me. This week I have introduced the weights back into the regimen. After a leg/back workout yesterday, I ran 4 miles this morning. Running those four miles felt absolutely amazing to get out and shake out the legs after pushing them yesterday. The weight training program that I am following is a modified version of the Ryan Hughes Cutting Program on Bodybuilding.com. I looked at my weekly schedule and can not combine the running program along with a 6 day a week program, so I combined and compressed the routine down to three days a week. If you look at the training page here on my blog, the numbers on the charts are the reps.

The day MY whole world changed… #ALLinnDad

Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 8:30AM,  I awoke, hungover, to the sound of my alarm. BEEP BEEP BEEP.  As I peel myself out of bed, make my way over to the alarm and shut it off, I hear my wife say, “Babe.”  Now mind you, my wife was 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant at this point.  I heard her voice, and I just knew.  Her water broke.  After a couple oh-shit moments, we gather the “go bags” that we had packed in the previous weeks and make our way to the car.  We arrive at the hospital at approximately 9:00AM and 13 hours and 16 minutes later, at 10:16PM, our son was born.  As a full-time police officer, I pride myself on being able to hide my emotions.  Well, that went right out the window the moment that I held Antonino for the first time.

In the following few weeks that I was blessed to be able to take off from work and be home with my family, I began looking around my home.  Kristina and I have built a very nice life for our now growing family.  We have a beautiful home in a very quiet neighborhood.  We have been picking away at minor “facelift” renovations, and even managed to complete Antonino’s nursery and the guest bathroom adjacent to his nursery prior to his arrival. It wasn’t until I looked in the mirror while holding my two week old son, that I realized, it was time to put some time in on my newest project, me.

Working full time, helping coworkers renovate their homes and then still finding time to work on my home had caused two aspects of life to be very lacking; Time for me and time for family.  The family time was much easier to get as there was never a better excuse to tell people I couldn’t go somewhere as, “I have a newborn, sorry.”  The me time, that has always been through fitness and working out.  Last summer, I worked with a relative, and friend, The Fit Foodie Mama.  She is a certified running coach and she hooked me up with a great running and workout plan.  I followed it for several months before work and inevitably life, got in the way.  April 2019, marked a new beginning.  I am reinstating the previous workouts and nutritional plan.  Now I do not consider myself to be obese, or out of shape, but, I know that it is time to focus on becoming healthier and start achieving the goals I have so that I can be an example for my son.

Now if you’re still reading, you might be wondering, what ALLinn is.  ALLinn is my new motto.  Antonino’s initials are ALL and our last name is Linn, thus combining to create ALLinn.  This has become something that I want to live up to.  I am setting out on this journey and I am ALL IN and plan to be all in on all future endeavors.

Thanks for joining me!
